takt time
Takt time is how often you should produce
one part or product to meet customer
requirements based on the rate of sales
Continuous fIow means producing and moving
one item at a time to match takt timei with
each item passed immediately from one
process step to the next without stagnation
Cor any other wastej in betweeno
A core concept of TPS is arranging all the
processes in the production sequence in a
single, smooth flow based on the rate of sales.
Takt Time=available working time per shift÷customer demand rate per shift
example:
27,000sec÷455pieces=59sec
Producing to takt time sounds simple, but is the result of concentrated efforts to:
・Provide fast response (within takt time) to problems
・eliminate causes of unplanned downtime
・reduce changeover time
